What is the CARES Program all aboutBy Randy AustinCARES is an acronym for Conservation, Awareness, Recognition, Encouragement, and Support. The purpose of the BAS C.A.R.E.S. Preservation Program is to
encourage hobbyists to devote tank space to one or more species at
risk, while forming an information network between aquarists, scientists, and
conservationists.To Encourage and Recognition hobbyist in the Brant Aquarium Society's  membership to devote tank space to one of the species at risk, BAS offers a Certificate of Recognition to each accepted applicant species to the program. The application for the program can be found on this website. Acceptance in the program is easy, all that is needed is a photo of the fish that you are keeping. The goal of the program is to help preserve species at risk, for future generations of Hobbyist.
